Personnel Manager – Sue Burnell

Sue Burnell has lived in Northern Virginia since 1989 when she started employment with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Sue’s primary job description at EPA is project manager, conducting data analysis and overseeing the program’s information needs for three EPA databases supporting the Underground Storage Tank program.  On the music side, Sue played the French Horn in high school and college.  She picked the Horn back up in 2002 and started playing with the Prince William Community Band when she took a hiatus from EPA to raise her two sons.  During the time she was a stay-at-home Mom, Sue volunteered as Vice President of the PWCB for five years until returning to work.  The kids are now grown and she has played with the band for 24 years.  Sue is once again volunteering with the PWCB. This time her role is Personnel Manager, responsible keeping the band members up-to-date and tracking our players.  Being part of the PWCB’s community and, especially, the wonderful Horn section has enriched her life and has been a fantastic musical experience.
