
Prince William Community Band
Formed in 1996, the Prince William Community Band is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation dedicated to providing the people of Prince William and surrounding counties the opportunity to perform, or enjoy as audience members, the exciting world of concert band music.
PWCB fosters music education in area schools while enhancing community appreciation of the unique concert band sound and literature. Quality performances are volunteered by community musicians ranging from active or retired professional musicians and educators to skilled amateurs fresh out of high school.
For audiences of all ages, PWCB members share their love of the spine-tingling inspiration in brass, woodwind, and percussion instrumental music. From spirited marches to enduring melodies to thought-provoking compositions epitomizing historical and contemporary life, the music of the Prince William Community Band appeals to everyone.

PWCB History
The Prince William Community Band was formed in June 1996 and is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation dedicated to providing the citizens of Prince William County, VA and surrounding communities the opportunity to perform, or enjoy as audience members, the exciting world of concert band music.
The Prince William Community Band held its first rehearsal on June 28, 1996 at the A.J. Ferlazzo Building on Cardinal Drive in Woodbridge, VA. The first performance was on August 11, 1996 at the Locust Shade Park amphitheater. Since then, the band has performed numerous concerts each year. Past performances have included the Manassas Fall Festival, Old Bridge Christmas Parade, Manassas Museum Holiday Concert, Occoquan Summer Concert Series, and at retirement communities within Prince William County, VA. All of our quality band performances are provided free of charge.
The Prince William Community Band fosters music education in area schools while enhancing community appreciation of the unique concert band sound and literature. The band is comprised of community musicians who are active or retired professionals, educators, and skilled amateurs. These various band members show that music is a vital and important part of the education process. Even if music students do not become professional musicians, they can better themselves and the community by contributing their time and talents in a community band.

We are proud to have received the 2006 Seefeldt Award for Outstanding Arts Group in Prince William County.
